Is the Tullamore bypass a good thing or a great thing?

Postby The Head Hauncho » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:32 pm

Curious question, maybe, but seeing as it is now open a couple of months, it is certainly a God-send for those commuting from the north to the west and south. But I wonder about the shopping and business aspect of it. I feel that it is now going to create an invisible but well-felt divide in the town separating east from west. On the bypass you have the supermarkets, department stores and retail/industrial estates. The opposite side has an IDA park with dwindling tenants, no major retailers, and mostly housing.

What do others think?
